Adam's Canyon Waterfall is one of Utah's most beautiful waterfalls. Nestled into the end of the canyon, and surrounded by trees and rock, sits this 40 ft waterfall. It's a very scenic trail, as it weaves its way along the stream, where dogs can play and you can dip your feet in when its hot outside. This is a popular hike year-round, and gets crowded by mid-morning. Set your alarm clock so you can get up early early to enjoy the falls alone. In Summer expect to pass literally 100 people or more.
Winter is a great time to go since less people hike here, but you'll want to check avalanche danger before going. Since you will be hiking in a somewhat narrow canyon, the threat of a major slide is possible. Also make sure you have the 4 Must Hike Items for Winter Hiking before heading out!

From SLC drive north on I-15, and take exit 394 to merge onto US-89 North. After exiting, drive 6.2 miles and look for the turn off to the right, for Eastside Driver. Immediately turn right again. Drive about 1 mile then look for the open parking lot on your left. This is the TH.

Distance: 4 miles RT
Elevation gain: 1400 ft
Time: 3-4 hours

This is the start of the hike. Walk along the chain link fence, then start working up the switchbacks.

The first 20 minutes of the hike will involve hiking up these switchbacks, along the wood fence.

The trail levels out for a little bit, and Adam's Canyon comes into view.

As we got up higher we could see we finally got out of the smog layer and a nice view of Kaysville and Centerville, UT.

Finally in the canyon! There were several spots that were very photo worthy!

We hiked here the day after a big snowstorm. As you can see by the snow layers, there was a good 4-6 inches of fresh snow. This full layer was probably 1-2 ft.

On the way up you'll pass by a mini waterfall, and in winter this turns into an ice cave.

Cross under the low hanging log, and you're only 10 minutes from the waterfall!

Finally there! Charlie and I climbed up the snow and ice so we could get as close to to the waterfall as possible.

There was a lot of snow around the waterfall, but I was surprised to see that it wasn't fully frozen over. Here I am with my friend @nicole04321 and her dog, Tallie.

Panorama of the waterfall area. There is plenty of space to take a seat to enjoy the view and have a snack or drink hot chocolate. As mentioned before, I highly recommend you hike up here as early as you can so you get the place to yourself, like we did.
