Hiking to the Hidden Haven Waterfall, Parowan, Utah waterfall, Brian Head waterfall, waterfalls in utah, waterfalls in southern utah, dog friendly utah waterfalls

Hiking to Hidden Haven Falls is a popular hike near Parowan, Utah. This short hike is perfect for kids and dogs to hike to, especially when it’s hot outside.

About

At only 2 miles round-trip, this hike is somewhat shaded and a perfect hike to do if you are visiting the Brian Head or Cedar Breaks area. The flat trail leads to a beautiful waterfall flowing from Benson Creek. Be sure to wear water shoes, as it is unavoidable to stay dry, especially in Spring when the falls are raging. During summer and fall it becomes a trickle, and is not as impressive, but you can stay dry. There are also several picnic tables 10 minutes from the falls, so plan to have lunch along the creek!

Directions

From I-15 near Parowan, UT take exit 78. Stay left on HWY 274, then turn left again on Center St. Reset your odometer here, and drive 5.8 miles where you will see a large white sign on the left side of the road that says, “Parowan Canyon Wildlife Management Area”. Park here.

Here’s a driving map.

Look for the giant sign and park here. I kept Charlie on leash in the parking area because its along the main road leading up to Brian Head. I let him off once we got on the trail.

The trail is very flat and half shaded. You can hear the creek off to the right.

Within 10 minutes cross the first bridge. Charlie was pretty hot and wanted to get in ASAP to drink and cool off below.

When you see the first bench, if you turn right you will reach the amphitheater. Stay straight to skip it and save yourself 5 minutes.

We accidentally went to the amphitheater first. I had him back on leash because we wouldn’t stop eating the grass on our hike. We realized we took a wrong turn and went back to the creek to reach Hidden Haven Falls.

I really liked this hike and can’t wait to come back! Just a heads up in the summer and fall the Falls become a trickle of water. Spring or right after a rain storm is the best time to visit to see the falls in full volume.
