Hiking to Bald Mountain, Uintas

Bald Mountain (11,942 ft) in the High Uintas Wilderness is one of my favorite peaks to summit. Not only is this peak one of the easiest to summit in the area, but it also offers grand views of the Mirror Lake Highway, surrounding lakes, several peaks, and on a clear day you can see Mt. Timpanogos. Along the Bald Mountain trail you may see mountain goats, pika, squirrels, and an abundance of wildflowers in early summer. As with any high altitude terrain, start this hike early in the day to beat the daily afternoon thunderstorms, the afternoon heat, and crowds.

Hiking to Rocky Mouth Falls

Rocky Mouth Falls is a very easy walk that can be reached in about 10 minutes, and is located just above the east side neighborhood in Draper, Utah. Because of its short distance and little elevation it's a great "hike" for kids or families that aren't up for a big adventure. This trail is a little different in that you have to walk through part of the neighborhood to reconnect with the main trail.

The 6 Best Things to do in Twin Falls, Idaho

The 6 Best Things to do in Twin Falls, Idaho are all within a short drive! Over July 4th weekend we decided to check out this area for a few reasons. First is that most of you know I'm still recovering from foot surgery and am limited to 1 mile walks. Boring! Second, I needed to find an area that we could focus on getting our Alpacka Rafts out and/or easily walk up to cool sights. Third, I didn't want to drive super far - Twin Falls is only 3.5 hours from SLC! After doing a bunch of research on the area, this left us with several options, and over 2.5 days we checked out these amazing locations! From kayaking and very short walks, there is something for everyone in Twin Falls!

Run-a-Muk Dog Park & Trail

Run-a-Muk Dog Park & Trail was introduced as an off-leash dog area in November 2014 in Kimball Junction, Utah. The trail is just under 2 miles round trip, yet dogs have the freedom of roaming the full 43 acre fenced-in field. It is located along the drive to the Utah Olympic Park, so it's a neat to experience to be able to hike and see where the winter Olympians train.

The Woods Trail & Dog Park

The Woods Trail & Dog Park is one of Jeremy Ranch, Utah's dog park. It is located in a neighborhood to the north of I-80, & this small dog park is fenced in for your furry pal to run around and get his energy out. After playing ball, grab your leash and take your choice of two trails starting from the dog park - the easy 0.5 mile loop that wraps around the pond, or the longer 1.3 mile loop that weaves its way through the neighborhood with view of Summit Park Peak.
